Meet the Board of Directors

President
Mark Tierney
Mark Tierney worked in the field of finance for almost 40 years, mostly for Pratt and Whitney. After he retired, he and his wife, Lorraine, relocated from Connecticut to New Hampshire. They have lived in Warner for the last 3 ½ years. Warner is close to where their daughter and family live in Vermont. Warner is also close to the New England Dragway, where Mark races his 1969 Chevelle. He also volunteers for SCORE (Service Core of Retired Executives), helping people start or grow a business. Lorraine is very active making cards, and is self-employed selling card making supplies from Stampin-Up.

Treasurer
Neil Donnenfeld
Neil Donnenfeld is retired from the consumer packaged goods industry where he last served as the CEO of Advanced Vision Research, Makers of TheraTears. He dedicates the majority of his time to working with non-profit organizations. In addition to his role as Treasurer of Capital Region Habitat For Humanity he serves as a board member of Quiet Communities, The Acoustic Neuroma Association and is a firefighter / EMR. He enjoys raising bees and maple sugaring. He is married to Ellen Sandler who is a financial services professional. Neil has two grown daughters who work in the healthcare field.

Volunteer Coordinator
Hannah Witmer
Hannah Witmer joined the Capital Region Habitat for Humanity as a board member in October of 2024. She currently works as Tax Coordinator for the wealth management division at Ledyard Bank and lives in the Concord area with her rescue dog, Berwyn.
You might also catch her working behind the bar at Feathered Friend Brewing on occasion. In her free time, Hannah enjoys riding her motorcycle, silversmithing, going to concerts and working on DIY garden and backyard projects at home.

Kim Smalley
Kim Smalley retired from Pike Industries, Inc., a road construction company owned by CRH, in 2022 after 38 years in various capacities. She worked as a Contract Administrator, assisting with federal road bids, subcontractor selection, and job profitability analysis for the first 25 years, and then went into the commercial sales department, managing third-party sales of asphalt and aggregates as the Commercial Business Manager. Born and raised in Ohio, she married her high school sweetheart and completed a degree in Business Management from Franklin Pierce University, attending night school.
Beyond her professional achievements, Kim is an avid outdoors enthusiast and enjoys hiking, kayaking, biking, and camping in summer and Alpine and Nordic skiing and snowshoeing in winter.
She and her husband Scott are both members of Faith Community Bible Church in Loudon and currently reside in Canterbury, NH.

Scott Smalley
Scott Smalley has been a Habitat project volunteer since he retired in 2021. Prior to retiring, he worked
in a variety of capacities, from service industries to owning and operating a printed circuit board-related
manufacturing company with his wife, Kim. He has a bachelor’s degree in business administration from
Franklin Pierce University and obtained Lean and Six Sigma certifications from Boston University.
He has been married for nearly 48 years and enjoys outdoor activities including hiking, kayaking, skiing, and backpacking. Scott and his wife have resided in Canterbury, NH, for over 30 years and are very
active members of Faith Community Bible Church in Loudon, N,H where they serve on the Deacon Caring
Board.

Pete McNamara
Pete McNamara is a retired nonprofit executive with more than 25 years of experience in leadership, management, grassroots advocacy, lobbying, legislative affairs, regulatory strategy, and legal oversight. Throughout his career, Pete worked extensively within the nonprofit sector, helping organizations strengthen their governance, policy impact, and operational effectiveness.
Pete brings deep strategic insight and a strong understanding of public policy and regulatory environments to Capital Region Habitat for Humanity, helping guide the organization’s mission of providing safe, affordable housing across Merrimack County.
Pete is married to Karen McNamara, a reading tutor dedicated to supporting young learners. Together, they enjoy camping, cycling, and traveling. They are proud parents of two grown children.
